![]() This one is my all time favourite
and sums up exactly what it must feel like to be a Tomorrow Person
"They've had plenty of experience in the art of survival. Can you imagine living your whole life in a tribe of monkeys, with your very survival depending on them not finding out that you are a human, a superior being..." Professor Cawston: Secret Weapon. |

This is not one of my favourite stories but there are some small gems of wisdom contained within the dialogue as well as a funny parody on the British police force. "One law for rich and poor alike, which prohibits them equally from stealing bread or sleeping under bridges." TIM: One Law
This quotation comes from the first ever TP novel written by Roger Price and Julian Gregory in 1973. This novel takes pride of place in my TP memorabilia collection. I can re-read the story again and again and still get that special tingle as the words weave their magic and bring the characters to life. Their names are John, Stephen, Carol and Kenny. They seem to be just ordinary kids. A bit quieter than most, perhaps. But they are The Tomorrow People, forerunners of a new race, homo superior. Gifted with superhuman powers they are Nature's response to man's aggression: a new species, wiser and more peace loving than homo sapiens, and until more of their race evolve these four have intergalactic responsibility for the future of Planet Earth.
It seems that Elizabeth gets the best lines in many of the stories and here are a few of my favourites: "I get it now, so all we've got to do is get the whole world to fall asleep at the right moment and dream of fighting. If I come back next week can I try for the jackpot!" Elizabeth: The Blue and The Green "How can any man be free while others wear chains. How can one rule wisely without first learning to obey. How can any man enjoy greatness while others are kept from fulfilment." Elizabeth: A Rift in Time "But John these are dangerous idiots armed with enough sophisticated weaponry to blow the world apart. I don't see how we can afford to take the risk of not returning Elma to them again and again and again..." Elizabeth: A Man for Emily
We got to see the face behind the voice of TIM when Philip Gilbert played Tikno and Timus (TIM's close clone brothers) in various episodes. "This is a good world to be on now that the Khultarn and Vesh Taker no longer rule it. It will be even better for the Vesh here on Peri than it will be for you Tomorrow People on Earth." Tikno: Worlds Away
The TP's always needed a 'Sap' friend to help them out of sticky situations and Chris Harding was one of those characters that returned again and again throughout the show's long run. This quote is one of those little quips which was the hallmark of the dialogue from many episodes. Here Chris has just escaped from police custody and entered the Lab through the secret entrance. When a shocked Stephen remarks at how he escaped he replies. "They don't call me Houdini Harding for nothing!" Chris: The Blue and The Green
